Combined heating/ventilating systems

Overview

ATS has a comprehensive understanding of air ventilation techniques, and has developed a series of proprietary systems to provide complete climate control solutions that offer low capital and running costs.

Jetflo is a bespoke ATS jet nozzle air entrainment system, which provides HEVAC solutions for large volume industrial or commercial buildings. This multi-use high velocity system provides low energy solutions to suit buildings up to 40m high and mezzanine areas down to 3m.

Jetflo benefits:

  • low carbon heating
  • less than ±1% total climate control
  • self balancing solution
  • single point maintenance
  • fuel saving in excess of 50%
  • ISO 9001 accredited.

Jetflo installations include:

  • distribution centres
  • pharmaceutical storage facilities
  • warehouses and factories
  • stadiums and sports halls
  • chilled storage facilities
  • aircraft hangars
  • rail maintenance facilities
  • mezzanine areas.

Jetflo applications include:

  • heating
  • mechanical cooling
  • ventilation
  • frost protection
  • make-up air
  • heat recovery
  • fume dilution.

Performance

The high-performance Jetflo system has been designed with low energy as a priority.

Features include:

  • distribution system with a low energy design
  • ECA approved air handling units
  • 92% high efficiency gas burners
  • fully packaged trend DDC controls.

To ensure the most efficient management of heat loss, particularly in large or high buildings, Jetflo has been designed to distribute heat in the most economical way. The quantity of heat lost through the roof is directly related to the temperature difference between the inside and outside of the building. As the air rises, the temperature difference increases and heat loss accelerates through the roof. This heat loss is further compounded by the increase of cold air infiltration at low level creating draughts. Jetflo removes the temperature gradient, reducing capital and running costs by lowering energy and air-volume inputs. Using any free heat in the building to provide additional energy where it is needed eliminates the risk of potential draughts and saves money.

Sitework

Jetflo systems are self balancing and do not require high level dampers, preventing the need for high level commissioning. The air handling unit provides single point commissioning and maintenance.
The system can be easily installed in existing buildings in addition to new build structures. Ductwork is cut to size at ATS’s facility to provide fast site installation.

Operation and control

Jetflo uses low-volume jet nozzles to project conditioned air to the premises. As the jet progresses, it entrains the surrounding air, which has the effect of setting it in motion whilst reducing the velocity of the jet. In this way, conditioned air is conveyed to the desired area. Stratification is therefore kept to a minimum and differential temperatures at working level are eliminated. The result is a stable working environment for operatives and machinery that enables continuous productivity.
Jetflo is a versatile, reliable system that can be fully modulating, automatically controllable, and can use many fuel mediums including gas (direct or indirect fired), water or steam.
Plant is centralised for rapid maintenance and ductwork is small bore for easy routing within the building.
