The M-Series replaces the earlier E-Series range of stainless steel condensing boilers and is long-lasting and highly efficient at heat transfer. The M-Series is a compact condensing boiler, made entirely from stainless steel.
Operation
- Burner:
The M-Series boiler features a patented, fully pre-mix natural gas burner with a fail-safe ionisation flame sensor. Filtered air is drawn from the boiler room and then passes through a venturi, where it mixes with the natural gas supply before passing through a variable speed centrifugal fan. The air and natural gas mixture then passes vertically down a circumferential series of burner tubes, where it is ignited to provide a circular carpet of flame that runs evenly from the top of the combustion chamber to the bottom. The heat output can be modulated from 100% down to 25%. Throughout this range, the NOx level remains below 40mg/m2. - Heat exchanger:
The M-Series condensing boiler has two distinct heat exchangers surrounding the combustion chamber. Both are manufactured from high-grade smooth austenitic stainless-steel tubes, surrounded by turbulator sections designed to ensure maximum heat transfer. The hot combustion gases from the vertical burner tubes pass horizontally across the chamber, where they transfer heat to the inner circle of small tubes as the gases pass through it. The cooled gases then pass the outer circle of larger tubes, where the remaining dry- and wet-condensing heat is transferred. - Flues:
The M-Series boiler flue requirements are economic, with low material and labour costs compared to other boilers. As the flue gas exit temperature is always low, the volume of gases is greatly reduced throughout the year. When the comparatively smaller flues are manufactured from high-grade plastics, installations are fitted easily and can be guaranteed for up to 20 years. Care should be taken, when joining multiple boilers into one stack, to ensure the boiler flue gases are injected together, rather than interrupting through-put.
Composition and manufacture
The M-Series boiler body is made of grade 316L austenitic stainless steel. The outer case is made from enamelled quality steel. The first and second heat exchangers are also made from smooth 316L austenitic stainless-steel tube with integrated turbulators. The
pre-mix burner is patented, with water cooling of the 316L austenitic stainless steel elements to ensure low NOx performance.
