Water heaters, local gas: Part 1Overview
The basic design principles of Andrews’s water-heating units offer energy-efficient operation, which has been successfully exploited in a number of award-winning energy-conservation projects.
SOLARflo
A complete solar-thermal solution for both direct-fired water heaters and commercial boiler applications.
The SOLARflo package includes high-quality solar collectors, single-coil and twin-coil duplex stainless-steel cylinders, pump station, control unit and system expansion vessels.
MAXXflo
Winner of The Queens Award for Enterprise: Innovation 2007, the MAXXflo range of high-efficiency condensing stainless-steel water heaters is a new concept in self-contained storage water heating for commercial applications. Featuring stainless-steel tanks, the high-efficiency units incorporate a fully-modulating burner function to provide maximum performance combined with economic running costs.
Heat input and water flow are carefully regulated to produce a closely-controlled water temperature; the design affords protection against legionella bacteria.
Virtually instantaneous hot water is available due to the heat exchanger being sited externally to the storage tanks.
ECOflo
Condensing glass-lined, ultra-high thermal efficiency storage water heaters featuring a low-NOx pre-mix power burner that is quiet in operation, and a 98% gross efficiency that keeps running costs to a minimum, in addition to flueing arrangements that offer excellent installation flexibility.
SUPA-flo
A range of gas-fired high-efficiency water heaters capable of supplying large volumes of hot water for a variety of commercial and industrial applications. The SUPA-flo water heater is a low water-content unit with a copper or stainless-steel finned-tube heat exchanger and stainless-steel headers and manifold. The unit can operate instantaneously, providing hot water on demand, or with a buffer-storage vessel. It is suitable for either vented or unvented systems.
Capacity
MAXXflo: a range of condensing storage water heaters with tank options of 100, 200 and 300 litres capacity and a choice of 9 sizes from 30 to 120kW.
ECOflo: seven models offering two storage capacities of 230 and 380 litres, with heat outputs from 35 to 79kW and typical fast recovery rates of up to 1,400 litres/h.
