Rainscreen cladding: Alcowall, Rheinzink®, VM Zinc®The Alcowall rainscreen system utilises pre-weathered Rheinzink® and VM Zinc® panels for ventilated facades and cladding.
Alcowall systems are suitable for new-build projects and for over-cladding existing buildings, wall cladding, fascias and canopies.
Pre-weathered Rheinzink® and VM Zinc® have a natural finish which weathers consistently after installation, and are self-cleaning products.
The Alcowall support structure allows flexibility and adjustment, which is necessary to achieve the alignment and the flatness of the cassette panels.
Different systems available for zinc-facade rainscreen systems include cassette systems, tiles, vertical and horizontal profiled sections, angled standing seams, click-strip systems, reveal panels, horizontal panels, shiplap panels and corrugated and trapezoidal panels. Alcover is a member of CWCT and a Total Quality Approved Company.
Composition and manufacture
Zinc panels are fabricated from pre-weathered Rheinzink® and VM Zinc®, manufactured from titanium zinc to standard DIN EN 988 and TUV-tested in accordance with the Quality Zinc Criteria List, to standard BS 6561. The support structure comprises extruded aluminium and stainless steel.
Size and weight
Panel sizes are flexible within the constraint of zinc coil widths, from 200 to 1,000mm in width, and up to 3,000 or 6,000mm in length.
Rheinzink®: thickness from 0.7 to 1.5mm, weight 7.2 kg/m2 per 1mm thickness.
Appearance
Rheinzink® is available in three different finishes:
Bright Rolled (Natural Patina), Pre-weathered-Pro (Blue/Grey) and Pre-weathered-Pro (Grey).
Anti-graffiti protection is also available for Rheinzink®. VM Zinc® is available in Natural, Quartz, Anthra, Pigmento Patinated Red, Green and Blue.
Thermal properties
A range of insulation materials is available from Alcover to achieve the required U values.
Sitework
A full design, supply and installation service is available directly from Alcover, offering an integrated external-envelope package that also includes curtain walling, windows and doors.
Environment
Rheinzink® and VM Zinc® are totally recyclable.
