Rainscreen cladding: Alcowall® Rainscreen, TECU®-CopperThe Alcover Rainscreen system utilises KME TECU®-Copper pre-patinated finish panels for ventilated facades. Alcowall systems are suitable for new-build projects and for overcladding existing buildings, wall cladding, fascias and canopies.
The systems available for TECU®-Copper facade rainscreen include shingles, rhomboids, profiled sheets, profiled panels, cassettes, angled standing seam, TECU®-Net perforated mesh, and TECU®-Bond, which is a composite panel with 0.5mm thick layers of copper on both surfaces of a polyethylene core.
A stainless-steel support system is available to carry the TECU®-Patina panels, to cope with the aggressive particle run-off created by rainwater draining off a copper surface, which can cause aluminium corrosion.
Composition and manufacture
Copper sections are manufactured from 0.6 to 1.5mm thick KME TECU®-Copper to standard DIN EN 1172-R-240 in pre-patinated or natural unweathered material.
Size and weight
Panel sizes are flexible within the constraints of copper coils and sheets:
Width: 200, 500, 600, 670 and 1,000mm.
Length: 1,000 to 4,000mm. Bespoke lengths available. Consult manufacturer for further details.
Thickness: 0.6 to 1.5mm.
Weight: 10kg/m2 per 1mm thickness.
Appearance
TECU®-Copper offers a wide range of finishes in Classic, Traditional Copper, Oxid, Dark Brown, Patina, Green pre-patinated, Zinn, Matt Grey, Brass, Reddish Golden, Bronze and Reddish Brown colours.
Durability
The TECU® Blue-Green patination obtained by KME replicates the effects of long-term natural weathering, providing an attractive finish which requires no maintenance.

A full design, supply and installation service is available direct from Alcover, which offers an integrated external-envelope package that includes curtain walling, frameless facades, windows, louvres and doors.
Environment
TECU®-Copper is totally recyclable.
