Cladding, tiles/slabs: Terreal, PalagioAlcowall terracotta cladding is suitable for new-build projects and for overcladding existing buildings. The tiles and elements are secured to a stainless-steel or aluminium support structure, which can be fixed to a variety of structural substrates including blockwall, concrete or steel-stud walling. Fixing accessories make it easy to replace the tiles in the event of breakages.
Composition and manufacture
Terracotta tiles are manufactured from selected clays in accordance with standard NF P 13-304 and BS EN 539-2 Method C. Tiles are single or double skinned for high impact resistance.
Size and weight
Thickness: 14 to 70mm, single- and double-skinned tiles.
Height: 150, 200, 300 and 400mm.
Length: 300, 400, 500, 600, 900, 1,200 and 1,500mm.
Bespoke shapes and sizes and brise soleil-shaped elements are available in Autan, Harmattan, Zonda, Sharmal, Tube, Oval, Wing and Slope varieties.
Phoniceram tiles are also available for internal acoustic absorption.
Tile weight: 32 to 75kg/m2.
Appearance
Surface finishes are smooth, sanded, ridged or grooved. Available in 11 lifetime colours with glazed and metallic finishing and self-cleaning material.
Performance
Terracotta tiles are frost and UV resistant. Ventilated walls allow the reflection of external airborne noise, with the air gap and the thermal insulation offering significant levels of acoustic absorption. Low maintenance is required.
