Rainscreen cladding: Smaltowall®Smaltowall® vitreous-enamel panels are suitable for a wide range of fields, such as architectural, sanitary, naval and road tunnel, due to their reliability and technical performances.
The panels are secured to a steel or aluminium support structure, fixed onto different structural substrates. Insulation and fireproofing panels are available.
Composition and manufacture
Cladding panels are a tray-composite panel, manufactured with decarburized steel sheet, 1.5mm thick, with flanged edges, enamelled using acid-resistant enamels, Class A, in RAL colour range. A 12mm thick gypsum board is the core material, bonded to the vitreous-enamel sheet; a 0.8mm thick steel sheet bonded to gypsum board completes the panel. The vitreous-enamelling technology includes the application of different layers of enamel and the same number of oven cycles at a temperature of 830ºC.
Panels are enamelled according to Porcelain Enamel Institute (PEI) standards.
Size and weight
Steel sheet thickness: 1 to 2.5mm.
Tray panel thickness: 30 to 35mm.
Panel dimensions: 1,200 or 1,500 x 3,000mm.
Curved/bended panels are available.
Appearance
Panels are available in the RAL colour range. The enamelled surface can also be decorated with
silk-screen and transfer printing.
Performance
The surfaces are not damaged by open flames and there is no risk of release of toxic and harmful gas; to Class 0 standards.
Resistant to bacteria, acid rain, or pollution to marine atmospheres due to the hardness and abrasion resistance of the enamel-paint substrate. The vitreous substrate avoids metal corrosion.
Sitework
Alcover UK offers a complete sub-contract service, including design, manufacture and installation.
Cleaning and maintenance
Easy to clean, due to glassy texture, being free of any porosity and the hardness of the enamel coating, which avoids any dirt.
