Secure enclosures, screens and countersA public service counter should not be an intimidating barrier. However, an open counter may create anxiety amongst staff. Avon Armour autoslide electric screens reconcile the need for an open service counter with the need for control, confidentiality and security. At the touch of a button, sliding screens easily open and close, providing safety and an attractive, welcoming reception area.
Electric operation means staff can open the screen as little or as much as appropriate. Speech can usually be heard through the gap between the fixed and sliding glass, even when screen is fully closed.
Autoslide screens can be provided with any thickness of safety, anti-vandal or anti-ballistic glass. For screens with several service positions, panic buttons can be provided so any operator can close all positions at twice normal speed.
Fire-resistant glass can be used, in steel frames, where a screen must also function as a fire wall. These screens use an independent power supply and will close automatically when connected to fire alarm systems. All autoslide screens lock automatically on closing and are fitted with intermediate locks which operate at 50mm intervals to prevent forcible opening of a partially open screen.
