Composition and manufacture
All systems are available in a variety of softwoods, laminated softwoods and hardwoods. Casement windows can be internally or externally beaded, incorporating sealed, vented and drained units with concealed glazing pins. Austenitic reflex-hinges and Espagnolette locking systems are fitted as standard.
Performance
Arden Windows is quality assured to BS EN ISO 9001:2000, a member of the British Woodworking Federation, and is a FENSA registered company. A Secured by Design package is optional on all casement windows. A comprehensive 10 year guarantee is provided on all factory glazing. Glazing rebates comply with GGF guidelines and NHBC requirements, generally accepting up to a 28mm double glazed unit.
All windows are energy-efficiency rated to comply with The Building Regulations Part L and are BS 6375 certified for weatherproofing. Arden Windows uses water-based paints and a water-based boron preservative treatment providing a 30 year guarantee against rot and fungal attack on all softwood, providing the product is maintained during its service life. Softwood windows are FSC approved where specified.
Appearance
All products can be supplied semi- or fully-finished with paint or stain finish in any RAL, NCS or British Standard colour. Espagnolette locking is available with several handle colour options. Georgian bars are either 49mm solid timber through bars giving separate glass units, or 19 or 24mm plant-on timber bars, with spacer bars between the glass to replicate individual glass panes. Toughened and obscure glass options are also available.
