Road blockers and bollardsAvon road blockers provide an effective method of controlling vehicle access to restricted areas. Crash-rated models are available, along with a range of other crash-rated security products, including a high-security bollard and rising-arm barrier.
Avon road blockers are effective methods of vehicle control, protecting sensitive sites from aggressive vehicle attacks.
The RB680, RB780 and RB880 road blockers are operated by hydraulic rams, with power pack controls positioned locally or remotely within an external-rated cabinet. Access control equipment can be fitted to suit user requirements.
The Avon SB970CR security bollard is designed to withstand substantial direct impact forces and has been independently tested by the Transport Research Laboratory (TRL). SB970CR is one of a few British-built impact-resistant bollards approved for use by the UK Government.
Composition and manufacture
Road blockers are manufactured from heavy welded-steel section, sufficient in strength to exceed DTP axle loads. The blocker mechanism is encased in a sheet-steel enclosure. This is further encased by concrete for maximum strength. SB970CR bollard is made from heavy-gauge material.
Size and weight
The Avon RB680 blocker is available in segment heights up to 350mm, with the RB780 and RB880 crash-rated versions having a raise height of 800 and 1,000mm respectively. The SB970CR bollard has a raised height of 1,000mm.
Appearance
The RB680, RB780 and RB880 heavy-duty lumber top plate is coated with safety markings.
Performance
