Composition and manufacture
Suitable for a broad range of large area and outdoor sports-lighting applications, the Challenger® range of floodlighting by Abacus combines high performance with effective control of light pollution.
The Challenger® range of floodlights features a body of die-cast aluminium, finished in Light Grey polyester powder coating. A reflector of high-purity, polished and anodised aluminium incorporates an internal anti-glare baffle to improve efficiency and reduce glare. Easy access for re-lamping via opening of the rear cover, with positive closure via large stainless-steel catch. Designed to accommodate a large range of 1 or 2kW double-ended lamps, offering optimum optical control and adding greater stability, leading to less vibration and less damage in high winds. Toughened front glass, secured by extruded and anodised aluminium clips with silicone rubber pads. Sealed to IP65, with silicone rubber gasketing.

Abacus Lighting offers a free lighting-design service to all customers. This involvement can be limited to the design and supply of the equipment or extended to a total turnkey package, including installation and commissioning.
