The versatile Challenger® series features the Abacus Light Control System, minimising upward light pollution and overspill.
Challenger® 1 is a double asymmetric distribution flat-glass floodlight designed for lighting outdoor sports grounds, smaller sports stadia and large open areas. A precision reflector ensures tight beam control and an anti-glare baffle to redirect upward stray light back to the main beam, eliminating direct lamp glare.
Challenger® 2 is an asymmetric distribution floodlight primarily used for side lighting sports systems, including roof mounting in stadiums.
Challenger® 3 is a symmetrical distribution floodlight range; designed specifically for lighting large sports stadia using corner mast systems.
Abacus designs and manufactures columns and masts to suit almost any purpose with multiple operating-system options, including the world renowned base-hinged system. The company’s range of telescopic masts allows the structure to lower within itself when not in use.

Composition and manufacture
Challenger® body: die-cast, high-pressure aluminium. Reflectors: high-purity, polished and anodised aluminium. Toughened front glass secured in place to ensure a high IP66 rating.
