They are prepared by experienced engineers using advanced CAD-based lighting-design software. Abacus manufactures a wide range of lanterns, from bollards, floodlights and bulkheads, through to high-performance luminaires more suitable for open areas, car parks, pedestrian areas and other locations.
Pegasus® has been designed with a flat-glass profile with the lamp positioned within the upper canopy, resulting in a luminaire design that eliminates upward light, reduces glare, and offers optimum control of overspill. Utilising the high-performance Abacus Concept Reflector System, the luminaire’s efficiency allows long column spacings and square distribution, ensuring a minimum number of lantern locations.
The Orion amenity luminaire features a reflector system that maximises lighting efficiency and provides excellent control of light pollution. Finished with a polyester powder coating, it is available in a range of RAL colours, and is complemented by a decorative outer edge.
Umbra is a contemporary-styled luminaire, with a cast-aluminium base and top cap of spun aluminium. It has an impact-resistant polycarbonate cylinder, and is fitted with either mirrored louvres or a circular shield.
Skyline, with its flat-glass profile, presents an ideal lighting solution for amenity areas where stringent control over light pollution is essential. It features a die-cast aluminium body and toughened glass, with silicone rubber gaskets.
Skimmer bollard is a robust, illuminated bollard with adjustable beam, suited for general security-lighting applications where high vertical-lighting levels and added vandal resistance are essential.
Sitework
Abacus Lighting offers a free lighting-design service to all of its customers. This involvement can be limited to the design and supply of the equipment, or extended to a total turn-key package, including installation and commissioning.
Environment
In 2002, Abacus Lighting was awarded accreditation as a BS EN IS0 14001:1991 Registered Company, reflecting its commitment to protecting the environment. This standard specifies requirements for establishing an environmental policy, and a management system to minimise the impact the company’s operations have on the environment.
