Environment Agency

The Environment Agency is the leading public body for protecting and improving the environment in England and Wales.  It is their vision to have a rich, healthy and diverse environment for present and future generations.
The Environment Agency was established under the Environment Act 1995 and granted certain duties and powers.  They are a public body with around 60% of their funding coming from the Government, and much of the remaining income generated from various charging schemes.

Whilst the Environment Agency are independent, they work closely with the Government to achieve the best possible results for the environment.
